Steel price report as of December 30, 2010

Scrap

-          Turkey's domestic scrap price continued to increase to the range of 409-454 USD per tonne – source: SBB

-          Germany's scrap price rose by 44 Euro per tonne to 314 Euro per tonne – source: SBB

Semi-finished steel prices

-          Northern China's Tangshan City cut billet price for 150x150mm Q235 by RMB 20 per tonne ($3) ex-work to RMB 4,120 per tonne ($622), with 17% VAT on a cash-payment basis – source: SBB

Bar prices

-          Japan's rebar export price to South Korea surged to 58,000 Yen per tonne CFR for 10mm dimension – source: Yieh

-          Taiwan's rebar price up to 20,500 – 20,600 NTD per tonne – source: Yieh

Hot rolled coil prices

-          Hyundai Steel is exporting HRC at 650-660 USD per tonne FOB – source: MB

-          Chinese steel mills are quoting boron-added HRC at 640-650 USD per tonne FOB – source: MB

-          Taiwan's Chung Hung Steel offers HRC at 630-640 USD per tonne FOB – source: MB
